2013 Lobster Sale

The 30th Annual Washington Kiwanis Lobster Sale was held on November 2, 2013 in the parking lot of Dr. Jimmie Walker's dental office on West 15th Street in Washington. In spite of overnight rain, the day was quite pleasant with some sun and moderate fall temperatures. The club sold several hundred Maine lobsters and provided cooking services for those who didn't choose the cook-at-home option. Club President James Johnston and veteran lobster cooker Bill Outland manned the kettles. Considerable help was provided by students from the new Kiwanis Builders Club at P.S. Jones Middle School. Proceeds benefit the club's scholarship fund.

Here are some snapshots showing the day's activities and some of the Kiwanians whose hard work made the event a success.

2013 Golf Tournament

The 22nd Annual Washington Kiwanis Golf Tournament was held on the afternoon of June 29, 2013, in the midst of threatening skies and sometimes gusty winds. This tournament is considered the granddaddy of all superball tournaments in Beaufort County. All proceeds benefit the club's scholarship fund.

Here are some photos from this year's event including the winning team, some general golfing photos and pictures of the hard-working Kiwanians who made the event possible. Click on the image for a larger version.
