The Kiwanis Club of Washington awarded $8,000 in college scholarships June 7, 2010 during their regular weekly meeting. Scholarship winners were selected from applicants graduating from Washington High School and Northside High School.

Money for these scholarships comes from local projects sponsored by the club including an Annual Golf Tournament, Lobster Sale and the Washington Christmas Parade; the Edmund H. Harding Scholarship Fund at Washington High School and donations to the Christopher Francisco-Kiwanis Memorial Fund. The club meets Monday nights, 6:30PM at King Chicken. Prospective members are always welcome.
